Kansas Cattlemen's Convention Offers Something for Everyone

With growth and expansion, this year's Kansas Cattlemen's 16th Annual Convention and Trade Show will have something for everyone. Producers and the public are welcome to come by the Western State Bank Expo Center in Dodge City on November 15th to catch one of the many demonstrations that the association is hosting, from working cattle dogs with Andy Befort to a cattle evaluation demonstration conducted by USDA. Domenic Varricchio from Schwieterman, Inc. will be providing the latest market update and will answer questions about trends and what the market might hold. A Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) presentation will be provided by Dr. Dave Rethorst from the Beef Cattle Institute. Those attending the program will qualify and can receive BQA certification free of charge. As well, more than 75 exhibitors will be on hand throughout the day to offer an array of products and services at the trade show.

"This year's Kansas Cattlemen's Convention and Trade Show is bigger and better than ever. The trade show and demonstrations are free and open to the public, and I encourage everyone to come out and see what Kansas Cattlemen's Association has to offer. Kids can spend time at our KidZONE where we will offer fun times with a bouncy house and an obstacle course courtesy of Waters True Value. Producers can get educational and operational information from the industry's leading experts, and the event offers the opportunity for folks to visit with old friends and make new ones," stated KCA Executive Director, Tyler Dupy.

The event will be held from 7:00am-7:00pm. The day's events will wind down with a fundraiser auction, where funds raised will go towards the KCA Scholarship Fund and to help provide resources and educational programs in support of the cattle industry and independent producers. Two items already donated to the event include a Cancrete® Cattle Waterer courtesy of Advanced Agri-Direct, which will be raffled off, and a Hay Feeder graciously donated by Go Bob Pipe and Steel Sales will be auctioned with proceeds going directly to scholarships.

An upgraded registration for the Kansas Cattlemen's Convention and Trade Show is available for $75, and includes premium seating, a luncheon and the banquet dinner. Meals will be professionally catered, courtesy of the Kansas Cattlemen's Association. The luncheon will consist of USA beef brisket with sides and a dessert. The luncheon registration can be separately purchased for $35. The USA Beef banquet consists of a 12 ounce Premium Angus steak with potatoes, sides and delicious cake, and is offered for $40. Upgraded registration and meal reservations are highly encouraged to ensure an adequate number of meals are prepared.

Those interested in pre-registering or making meal reservations may do so by calling the Kansas Cattlemen's office at 785-238-1483 or going online. This event could not be possible without all of the many sponsors that support this event.
