KCA Committee Policy Meetings and Annual Business Meeting Scheduled

Over the past few years, the KCA membership has worked diligently to review and update the KCA Policy Resolutions. Engagement and input from our members helps to ensure relevance and thoroughness of the direction of our policy. Fake Meat and alternative proteins, World Wildlife Fund, Beef Checkoff, COOL, GIPSA: these are a few of the numerous topics/issues facing the industry that we must focus our attention.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP BUSINESS MEETING The KCA Annual Membership Meeting will take place on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Meridian Center in Newton, Kansas. This meeting is the one time each year where KCA Members come together to review and set policy resolutions. This is a serious order of business, and we hope you will make the time to attend this meeting.

In order to prepare for the meeting, policy review meetings will be on Friday, October 25th beginning at 9:00 a.m. This is a time set aside prior to the Annual Membership Meeting in order to review current resolutions, propose modifications to existing and draft entirely new resolutions. Areas of focus will include Animal Health & Welfare, Rural Rights & Economic Development, Country of Origin Labeling, Marketing & Trade, Value Added Programs, and Beef Checkoff.

Only current and producing members of the association may attend the Annual Business Meeting. In order to participate in the meeting, participants will be required to verify membership status prior to entry into the meeting room. Entries will only be granted as a per-person membership, not as a business entity. If a ranch, as an example, is recognized as a member, only one registered owner (or approved proxy) per paid membership will be granted entry to the meeting. Spouses and business partners sharing a single membership will be granted access to a single participant. Membership must be paid and in-current standing as of October 22, 2019. Please call the KCA office if you have any questions on the status of your voting authorities and/or proxy requirements.
