The status and effects of the corona virus pandemic emergency are in constant motion as the nation has been gearing up to face this truly unique challenge. Kansas's Independent Agriculturalists on are the front-lines of ensuring Americans have a safe and healthy food supply. KCA is actively engaged in the crisis, and working on multiple fronts to assist. As resources come available, we are compiling a list for producers, consumers, and our communities to take actions to protect their physical well-being, livelihoods, and mental health.
Although the spread of the COVID-19 virus has been minimally detected in Kansas, it is imperative to behave as if the virus is here and prevalent in order to avoid its spread. Take steps to protect the health of you and your family. The average age of our farmers and ranchers puts them at elevated risks of serious consequences should they suffer infection. Take steps to protect yourself by social distancing, practicing proper hygiene techniques, seeking medical attention when appropriate, and following CDC and local guidelines.
